Our current contract with SPO is up this year. We will be voting again in February for our affiliation with the directors of SPO, NSA and SPN.

As stated below, it will be in February. The league executive will still have the final say on bats and what will be allowed or not.

| Was this discussed at today's meeting? I'm also looking into buying a new bat, need to know if I should get an ASA or USSSA. I kind of hope we stay with ASA, as I think there are enough home runs hit in this league as it is without the hotter USSSA bats. |

| Exactly right Bdehaan, that's why it'd be nice to know ASAP! Not to mention having more time to break a new bat in before the season starts. |

| the reps from nsa, spo, spn were a no show, therefore we will vote on our affiliation first before bat rules are considered at the next meeting. |

If you guys are worried about it, then buy a U-trip stick now (while they are cheaper) and on March 21st we have the next meeting, if we don't go U-trip, then sell them and make a few $. . Also, you won't be able to get out to hit BP until April anyways, so that still gives you plenty of time to get a bat before BP starts. |

All,
The affiliation vote could not happen until the 2010-2012 executive was voted upon and in place. Now that has happened, we can move forward with affiliation. It had NOTHING to with the affiliations not showing up at the meeting. It was a decision made made the exiting executive. Now with that being said, the executive will be meeting in the next couple of weeks to discuss the up coming season and to also discuss our affiliation. We will be discussing bats and bat standards, balls, umpires and meeting with the affiliations to discuss what they can offer our league. We will bring this information to our next AGM on March 21st.
Regards, Ian

Guys & Gals,
I agree with Terry on the bat topic, wait a minute, I agree with Terry??? I must not be feeling well.... Go buy your bat at the current price. If you do not need it, you can sell later for a small profit or keep it for tournaments.

I think if we go spo we take on utrip bats and simply implement a homerun rulÉ like say.
7 for A 5 for B 3 for C 2or1 for D
And anything beyond that will be a strike because I don't think a batter should be penaliZed with an out for hitting a ball over the fence sometimes the ball just hits the right spot and goes.. And for whoever made the coment about all the homeruns being hit can't remember ur name sorry. But majority of those homeruns being hit were with utrip bats ie freak 100. Syn 2...... So you'd pretty much be up against the same bats if we go utrip. Nothing is realy much hotter then a freak 100. Just my 2 cents
should i just walk off |

In the C division last year we had one team in particular (Unknown Trouble) that was sometimes hitting up to 10 homeruns a game. In the C division! They were undefeated the whole season, obviously. I don't think they were using Utrip bats, as they would not have been legal, right? Pretty sure I didn't spot any being used... but in any case, they were an A-division team playing in C. That's another thing I hope we can avoid happening this year. A homerun cap is one thing, but team placement is another. I don't know how it all works, but hopefully there's some kind of consideration to fair distribution of teams throughout the divisions considering what happened with C last year.
C had only 6 teams: One of which was undefeated, one of which was winless (hacks with $20 Wal-Mart bats) and that left really only 4 teams that belonged in the division. I understand that it's tough for the league organizers to get everything perfect though. I know they're doing the best they can. I just hope it's better this year. |
